Here are all of Issa's major filmed efforts. All with original music and a narrative of love, loss, merriment and mental health concerns.
Using a mock therapeutic backdrop married to the music video idiom he presented an award-winning autobiographical 48-minute musical documentary titled Patients Rites. He has made many other musical documentaries, Pop Music Voodoo about the rise of fascism, MAD LOVE about his long-time love with his artist partner, Queens Homecoming dealing with his complicated relationship with Queens, NY, the ambitious Cosmic Knockout, attempting to make sense of his schizophrenic mind, and more!

END TIMES TELETHON- 2025 76 minutes
Just imagine lost footage found of an old school 1980’s telethon mixed up with smarmy and amateur hosts shilling for a dubious cause with unattainable goals, wonky tech fails (International Dubbing System a.k.a. Dub-O-Matic), and questionable musical acts and you’ve got a recipe for a televised train wreck that you can’t look away from.
Queens Homecoming- 2023 30 minutes
This musical documentary film sings the praises and exposes the ugly underbelly of Issa’s hometown, the county of Queens, New York. This is a love/hate letter in story and song about his complex relationship with Queens, the glory and the shame.
MAD LOVE- 2020 53 minutes
What do you get when 2 artists meet in an asylum and are tested by time, trust, faith and the power of creativity? MAD LOVE. A true story of art and romance in and out of the asylum.
Patient’s Rites- 2015 44 minutes
Using the institution of popular song married to the music video idiom, Issa created a 48-minute musical documentary. It exposes the familiar tropes and stereotypes associated with the mental health community while opening a dialogue about stigma. Think of it as a therapy session set to music.

Pop Music Voodoo- 2019 59 minutes
A vagabond schizophrenic musician spirals into his own alternate sense of reality and beyond by the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump. Silent film in a head on collision with music video, is this a mockumentary or the beginning of the end of the world?
Dreaming in Black + White 6 minutes
Video installation first presented at The Queens Museum of Art group exhibition In The Flow: Artists From The Living Museum in March 2002. Filmed and co-edited with Museum Art Access Manager Kit Shapiro. Though the video was presented as a silent film I took the liberty to use an instrumental mix of one of my compositions as a bed.
